Skill Development & Vocational Training Program

Abhyudaya Charitable Trust has set a major objective of promoting economic empowerment among disadvantaged women and youths. To achieve this, the organization provides vocational training in various income-generating trades that have been identified based on the capabilities and potential of the beneficiaries. Trades such as cutting and tailoring, embroidery, and food processing have been selected. During the review period, the training program was conducted in multiple locations in Kannauj district and nearby districts, enrolling over 300 women and youths. Priority was given to individuals from poor and marginalized families who lacked livelihood opportunities but expressed a willingness to join the training program for income generation and independence. Emphasis was also placed on enrolling socially excluded groups such as Scheduled Castes, minorities, women, and disabled individuals.

The organization engaged qualified and experienced instructors to conduct the vocational training, providing comprehensive guidance on production, packaging, marketing, and after-sales service. This approach ensured the trainees maintained high-quality workmanship and developed a customer-oriented approach. Encouragingly, most trainees have successfully started their own self-employment ventures after completing the training, earning a livelihood and displaying increased consciousness and responsibility. With time, they are expected to generate surplus income to support their families, leading to an improved standard of living.

The trainees across all training centers expressed appreciation for the organization’s efforts in providing them with a rare opportunity to develop skills and capacity for livelihood generation. The success of the vocational training program has created a positive impact in the surrounding areas, sparking demand for its expansion to serve a larger section of society. Consequently, the organization plans to conduct vocational training programs in various other locations within the mentioned districts, taking into account available resources, in the coming years.
